Can losing weight help a women get pregnant?
We know after fertility studies that yes, weight can be a factor. There have been cases where a woman wasn’t able to conceive. Then after losing weight, she conceives. There are other factors as well though. The main thing is to be as healthy as possible. My doctor suggested I start taking the prenatal vitamins while TTC. We need the 400mcg of folic acid anyway. Also, eating whole foods and reducing your processed sugars and so forth, can help as well.
Sometimes if a woman is overweight or too skinny, it can effect the cycle. If she then gets on track it can make her luteal phase (time between ovulation and period) longer or shorter. That can make a more conducive environment for pregnancy. That makes sense, when you think about it, knowing that a period can be delayed due to a change in diet and or exercise.
Sometimes if the luteal phase is too short, it doesn’t allow enough time for the baby to implant and grow.
My doctor also told me (I really picked her brain lol) that women that had 8oz or 1cup of whole milk or whole milk yogurt a day conceived faster than those that did not. I decided to give it a try myself. We were TTC our second child and I was charting on fertilityfriend.com. They always talked about watching for that fertile cervical mucus that was most like raw egg whites. I really didn’t see a lot of that until I did the whole milk yogurt thing. I think that helped.
I found a brand Nancy’s which is natural. Then I added frozen berries and honey… it was pretty yummy.
Best of luck and blessings
