Diet Plan to Lose Weight and Stay Fit
Diet plays the vital role in maintaining correct weight. Many people believe that eating fewer calories can help them lose weight. It is not true. Weight loss is not simply related with calories. There are so many diet regimes available nowadays. People are ready to spend hundreds, even thousands of dollars for losing excessive weight. However, most of these systems do not work properly. The diet plan to lose weight needs to provide a long-term healthy lifestyle. It should include good eating practices and some regular physical activity.
The right balance of nutrients is important:
The diet plan to loose weight does not insist you to eliminate major group of food like carbohydrates, fats and proteins. Many diet programs suggest eating low carbohydrates. They provide some strict rules that you may find difficult to follow. However, you may try them to lose your extra fat. These programs may work in the initial stage. However, they may tend to increase the consumption of fats and proteins. Moreover, long-term low carbohydrate diets may elevate the risk of colon cancer and osteoporosis.
Low fat diets are available in the markets. It may sound nice and you may believe that they can reduce overweight. However, low fat diet includes the problem of limiting the calorie intake to only 10% fat content. Therefore, you tend to eat more calories and gain more weight. The best diet plan to lose weight needs to include correct amount of fat.
Some diet plans require you to eat little or to take only fluids, and then such plans do not really work. Due to the side effects of some diet plan there may arise some deficiencies that may pave way for some infections and other skin related disorders. There may also be some hair loss and anemia. Starvation diet can cause emotional problems and depression since the diet lacks vitamin B complex and amino acids. The low energy content cause energy drainage and tiredness. The best diet plan to lose weight never supports starvation.
Avoid pre-packaged foods:
Plenty of pre-packaged foods are available in the local super markets. The product manufacturers are earning huge profits targeting the people who look for the ways to get a thin waistline and flat stomach. However, they do not work because they are not tailor fit to every dieter’s needs. These products teach the people how to control their hunger. This is not a healthy practice. They also cost up to $500 per month. It is rather beneficial to find out a best diet plan to lose weight.
Wrong food habit is one of the main reasons for overweight. People who do enough workouts may suffer from obesity problem due to their wrong food habits. Most of the people eat three big meals a day. However, this traditional pattern is not good for health. The best diet plan to lose weight insists to eat five small meals a day instead of eating three heavy meals. However, the smaller meals should contain the right foods.
The best diet plan to lose weight helps you to lose extra fat every week. It enables you lose excessive weight simply by eating the right metabolism burning foods. You are therefore able to look slim and beautiful and at the same time can maintain your energy level.

SPARKPEOPLE.COM
"User Rating:
97% of people who tried this diet like it"
SparkPeople is a community. SparkPeople is a health site. SparkPeople is a fully-developed free diet plan. It incorporates a lifestyle-change approach to healthy living. It bases its nutritional components upon the food pyramid and its diet plan on the premise that you must take in less calories than you expend, in order to lose weight.
SparkPeople does not simply provide a one-line synopsis of what dieting should or shouldn’t look like. Instead, it guides you through a four-stage program that you initiate and sustain through education, group support and motivation. All this is done online via a community that exchanges information through forums, shared recipes and stories of success or failure, from people who are navigating through the same journey as yourself.
SparkPeople began in 2001 as a goal-setting site. When it became apparent that nearly all of the contributors and community members shared the goals of wanting sound nutrition, fitness and healthy lifestyles, they flung themselves full-heartedly into providing the best information about health that they could find. This lead to a full-scale discussion about the kinds of dieting programs that consistently produced results. What they came to believe, after all the study and input was complete, is that there is no magic bullet when it comes to living healthy. Being healthy is about both daily and lifetime choices. The site that exists today is a collaborative effort and attracts nearly two million users. In 2006, SparkPeople was ranked as the 6th most visited site in the "Health and Medical-Wellbeing" category and 3rd amongst diet sites. Spark’s mission is about creating support that translates into success and "sparks" the desire to pass "lessons learned" to others.

I lost 30 lbs in 2 months by eating a granola bar for breakfast, tuna and noodles for lunch, and just eating what I felt like in reasonable quantities for supper. Supper is usually just a small snack, all I want since I’ve started working out. Reducing your eating quantities and exercise will reduce your hunger.
Most important thing, I did NOT deny my cravings. A scoop of ice-cream satisfies a craving. A gallon of ice cream makes you fat.
I also hit the elliptical machine pretty hard. I found doing short 15 minute sessions on that, at least two, a third or more if I feel like it, is better than doing a single 30 minute session. Between sessions I lift weights. I range between 1 and 2 hours in the gym daily. I’m not to where I want to be yet, but I started at 278 lbs and I’ve been down to 248. I’ve gained a bit back due to outside influences on my life, but I’m getting it back under control as I’ve been getting the outside influences out of the way.

Do this:
Breakfast: OATMEAL, don’t fill up on it but eat at least 400 calories of oatmeal EVERY morning before anything else. Feel free to mix raisins or any fruit into it, but only eat Quakers old fashioned oatmeal everyday for breakfast. Maybe a glass of orange juice, and a good multi vitamin
For lunch, eat Tuna and whole wheat bread
For dinner, eat something REALLY high in dietary fiber, there are noodles out there that have 30% of your dietary fiber per serving, LOOK for them. Eat little red meat, Turkey and Fish are the bests meats to be eating.
For your work outs, avoid cardio for awhile besides lots of walking. You need do lift weights. Do the basic work outs ONLY and start VERY light.
Bench Press
Squats
Military Press
Curls
Triceps
Leg extensions
Leg Curls
Do not over due it with the weights, its easy to hurt yourself and then you’ll never want to lift again.
After about 3-4 months I suggest starting some light, light jogging and progressively intensifying it.
The reason you don’t want to just jump into cardio is because you could easily cause damage to your joints/knees/ankles etc. So take it easy, start with eating right and lifting weights. The new muscle from lifting will help burn more calories while your not doing anything at all. And eating right will help your body focus on losing what you already have, and not struggling to burn off what you just ate.

Sounds like you just need to kick start your metabolism. Try eating five or six times a day rather than two or three. But make the meals much smaller and make sure they are healthy. Or you could just try cutting down your portions and eating more fruits and veggies. There are also several different supplements that can assist you with weight loss. This site lists a couple that actually worked. http://iceipho.notlong.com

Weight loss is a tricky topic. Lots of people are unhappy with their present weight, but most aren’t sure how to change it – and many would be better off staying where they are. You may want to look like the models or actors in magazines and on TV, but those goals might not be healthy or realistic for you. Besides, no magical diet or pill will make you look like someone else.
So what should you do about weight control?
Hope this can help u.

I found this on this website. There are more tips and info.
1. If what you are eating has less than 1 carb, count it as 1 carb just to be sure.
2. Totally avoid caffine at least for the first two weeks on the program.
3. Drink a MINIMUM of 8 glasses of plain water or seltzer daily.
4. Don’t weigh yourself more than once a week
5. Take starting measurements as well as weight – sometimes you’ll lose inches before pounds
6. Avoid any type of "low carb" sweetener for the first two weeks
7. Don’t compare your loss to someone else’s – this is a YMMV thing (your milage may vary)
8. Stalls are common around the third week so don’t panic
9. If you follow your plan to the T and don’t lose, consider Candida as a possibility and avoid vinegar, cheese, mushrooms and any other fermented food
10. Have bloodwork done before starting so you have a comparison
11. Cholesterol can be elevated in the first few weeks til your body adjusts – make sure your doctor knows that you’re doing low carb and when you started
12. Don’t blame the diet if you don’t read your plan book — blame the diet if you don’t read the labels — Don’t blame the diet if you don’t follow the diet

Hi there,
I think you might be getting a little mixed up with what you want exactly. You say that you want to lose "weight" but that means you might want to get rid of some muscle too. You then say that you’d like to "shape" (I’d call it tone) your body a little which implies you want to build some muscle. I’m not trying to pick at your question – I just want to clarify the point for you.
To answer it in the best way, I am going to look at it as if you want to get rid of fat AND build muscle at the same time. If you’re looking to "trim" and "tone" your body, and espectially because you suggest you are not that overweight, I would suggest you start performing more intensive aerobic exercises such as jogging. I wouldn’t think you need to change the whole way you eat or go on a diet because if you’re wanting to build muscles – it’s better to do it all with exercise.
Exercises like jogging won’t exactly "build" your muscles on your stomach but they will help reduce the extra fat around there. Depending on how fit you are, you should go on daily or bi-daily jogs of around a mile. To build muscles, you should concentrate on anaerobic exercises such as sit-ups to help build muscles.
These muscle-building exercises will give your muscles the toning and training they need to grow and become more prominent. To start to see a real difference with sit-ups, you should be looking to do no more than 100 every day (more than that will often hurt your muscles).
If you stick to doing those two forms of exercise – jogging and sit-ups, you should see real improvements in a week or two. Remember, you should do them as often as you can (I.E every single day).
